Role: Financial Accountant
Reports To: Financial Controller
Job Overview: We are seeking a detail oriented and experienced Financial Accountant to provide support to our Financial Controller. The financial accountant will be responsible for a variety of tasks to ensure the efficient management of Draslovka MPS’s finances in accordance with our regional and global organizational business goals.

QUALIFICATION, SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

  • Educational Background: Tertiary qualification in relevant field. CPA or CA qualified
  • Work Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in relevant or transferrable experience in financial accounting,
  • Relational skills: Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work individually and as part of a small team; the ability to communicate effectively with varied levels of personnel; an ability to be self-motivated.
  • Technical skills: Strong knowledge of accounting principles and standards, proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, MYOB, SAP excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, strong attention to detail and accuracy; an analytical, enquiring mind able to problem solve, process improve and identify errors with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail; demonstrated ability to combine initiative and analytical skills to achieve required outcomes within required timeframes; strong numeracy and literacy skills including the ability to interpret legislation.
  • Communication skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Cash flow management and forecasting, including preparing and updating daily cashflow forecast
  • Accounts receivable and payable management, including review and authorisation of supplier payments in terms of company policies
  • Ownership of the General Ledger and associated month end reconciliations
  • Entry of standard journals, managing accounting and financial reporting, including balance sheet reconciliations, and addressing any associated issues or concerns
  • Analysis of profit and loss statements, ensuring commentary is provided to support data.
  • Maintain fixed asset register
  • Monthly journal reviews, variance analysis and commentary,
  • Facilitate monthly cost review meets with Department Managers
  • Review, analyse, and consolidate financial data into comprehensive reports
  • Promptly identify and address any issues and discrepancies that arise
  • Assist Financial Controller in preparation of the annual budget and quarterly forecasts
  • Preparation of supporting tax schedules and other supporting documents for tax professionals.
  • BAS and IAS, Payroll Tax, FBT etc .
