Description

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to support the internal finance operations of RMT, part of The Sumer Group. This newly created, internally facing role will work closely with the Senior Finance Manager to ensure the smooth and accurate running of financial processes. As part of the Sumer Group, RMT is experiencing a period of exciting growth, having recently acquired several businesses across the region. This position offers the opportunity to play a key part in managing the finances of a growing group structure while developing your skills in a varied and hands-on finance environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support daily finance operations, including purchase ledger entry, bank reconciliations, and issuing VAT receipts
  • Prepare invoices for RMT Technology and assist with credit control across multiple entities
  • Assist in calculating WIP and trade debtor provisions through liaison with managers and directors
  • Manage supplier reconciliations, payment runs, and respond to creditor queries
  • Prepare production hour/utilisation reports and analyse variances against budgets
  • Support the preparation of monthly management information to meet Sumer Group reporting deadlines

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

  • Experienced in finance or management accounting, ideally within a multi-entity or group structure
  • You can be qualified (e.g. ACCA, CIMA, ACA etc) or qualified by experience
  • Confident in credit control and hands-on finance tasks, with a keen eye for detail
  • Strong IT skills including advanced Excel (pivot tables, data analysis) and Word (for integrated reporting)
  • Familiar with accounting and practice management software (Access Dimensions and Iris Star desirable)
  • Highly organised with good time management and the ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Willing to provide cover for cashflow management and basic payroll processes during periods of absence (training provided)
