Description:

In your role as the Financial Accountant you will support the Financial Controller in ensuring that the organisations accounting processes and procedures are efficient and effective.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • CA qualified
  • Good working knowledge of NZ IFRS and the legislative reporting framework in New Zealand
  • Good working knowledge of income tax, GST and FBT legislation
  • Intermediate to advanced user of Microsoft Excel
  • Able to understand and develop accounting processes and procedures
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

    In your role as the Financial Accountant you will support the Financial Controller in ensuring that the organisations accounting processes and procedures are efficient and effective

Responsibilities:

  • Perform month end procedures including balance sheet reconciliations and internal financial reporting
  • Prepare and post general ledger journals and prepare annual financial statements
  • Provide financial analysis and investigate and/or escalate issues
  • Assist with the annual audit process including liaising with external auditors and preparing audit work papers
  • Responsible for the fixed asset register reporting, integrity and transactions
  • Responsible for daily treasury operations, forecasts and reporting
  • Prepare monthly board, management and annual budget reports as required
  • Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
  • Provide back up support to the Payroll & Accounts Administrators and Accounts Payable Team
  • Prepare GST and FBT returns for review and other tax support as required
  • Play a key role in ensuring tax compliance and managing taxation risk for PAE NZ
