Description
About the role We’re looking for a Financial Accountant to join our Finance team and help us build a disciplined, scalable finance function across a growing ANZ and US footprint. Reporting to our Global Finance Manager, you’ll sit at the centre of our day-to-day ANZ financial operations — month end close, payroll, reporting, compliance, and continuous improvement. This role is hands-on, fast-moving, and suits someone who likes clarity, order, and tightening processes in a scaling SaaS business. You’ll work closely with our VP Finance, Finance Manager, and cross-functional leaders across Sales, People, and Customer. What you'll do Financial Operations Prepare accurate invoices aligned to contract terms, apply correct tax treatment, and manage AR collections. Apply IFRS 15 revenue recognition and maintain deferred revenue schedules. Review and process expense claims, manage creditor runs, and maintain strong internal controls. Maintain accurate legal-entity financial records across AU, NZ, and US entities. Month End & Year End Deliver the full month end process: accruals, journals, balance sheet reconciliations, supporting schedules. Complete bank and AP reconciliations and resolve discrepancies quickly. Ensure all balances are accurate, supportable, and compliant with AASB/IFRS. Prepare financial statements and assist with annual reporting requirements. Payroll & Compliance Own end-to-end monthly payroll for the VendorPanel Group. Calculate and process commissions in partnership with Sales leadership. Ensure compliance with PAYG, Superannuation, payroll tax, and FBT. Stay on top of payroll legislation changes and adjust processes accordingly. Finance Operations Delivery Administer finance tools such as Xero, AirWallex, Navan, and Fathom. Identify and drive process improvements to speed up month end and improve data quality. Partner with internal teams to ensure smooth finance operations and clear expectations. Regulatory & Statutory Support preparation of group tax consolidations, R&D calculations, ITRs, FBT, and statutory accounts. Assist with external audit requirements and provide accurate supporting documentation. Ad Hoc & Improvement Projects Support leaders with financial insights to help them manage budgets and results. Contribute to process design, automation, and tools integration. Jump into project work as needed across the Finance function. About you CA/CPA qualified. 3+ years experience in financial accounting, ideally in SaaS or tech. Strong month end, reporting, reconciliation, and compliance capability. Proven experience owning end-to-end payroll, including all compliance requirements. Comfortable working across multiple entities and intercompany transactions. Advanced Xero experience (non-negotiable). Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills; BI or analytics exposure is a plus. High attention to detail, organised, and consistent under pressure. Pragmatic, solutions-focused, and able to work independently in a remote-friendly team. Clear communicator who can partner confidently with non-finance stakeholders. Bonus but not essential Experience with AirWallex, Navan, and Fathom. Exposure to SaaS metrics, subscription billing, or revenue recognition tooling. Experience in a PE-backed environment or in a business undergoing integration. A note to our applicants We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds and encourage candidates from marginalized communities to apply. If you need adjustments during the interview process, please let us know — we’ll do our best to support you. Please note: You must have the legal right to work in Australia. A police record check will be required as part of the process.
