Overview Waters is seeking a Financial Accountant to support one to two business entities within the Europe East region. This role will have end‑to‑end responsibility for internal and external audits across the region, as well as ownership of harmonized accounting activities for Europe East, including assets, recurring postings, and account reconciliations. The successful candidate will actively identify opportunities to further harmonize processes and drive efficiency across entities. This position is based in our Budapest office and works closely with regional and global finance stakeholders. Application end date: Sunday 31st May 2026 Responsibilities Key responsibilities will include, but not limited to: End‑to‑end US GAAP and statutory accounting responsibility for 1–2 legal entities within the Europe East region, including accruals, prepaids, local tax accounting, trial balance reviews, clearings, and reclassifications Primary point of contact for internal and external audits for the assigned entities Ownership of intercompany reconciliations across the entire Europe East region Execution of daily and monthly regional accounting activities, including fixed and demo asset management, recurring journal entries, P&L reviews, cost center control, T&E accounts, and stock count coordination Preparation and completion of BlackLine reconciliations for entities within the region Close collaboration with internal stakeholders (Finance, AP, Tax, Country and Regional leadership) and external partners (EY, PwC, local tax authorities) Participation in and support of local, regional, and global finance projects, with opportunities to drive harmonization and efficiency Qualifications Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field Solid experience in accounting roles, preferably within an international environment Fluent in English and Hungarian (written and spoken) Hands-on experience with SAP Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel Experience with Blackline is an advantage Self-motivated, with the ability to use own initiative to improve existing processes Strong team player with effective communication skills and the ability to build working relationships with internal and external partners Flexible and adaptable, comfortable working in a dynamic environment Willingness to grow and develop within a global organization Knowledge of any other European language is a plus This person must hold a current passport and be prepared to travel abroad not only during working hours but also occasionally at weekends.
