Location: Milton, Queensland Duration: Permanent Full time Work Arrangement: Hybrid, 4 days in the office, 1 day at home The role An opportunity exists for a proactive and enthusiastic individual to join our finance team based at our Milton office. The Financial Accountant is responsible for maintaining the WSA’s financial accuracy, compliance, and operational reporting. The role ensures that financial records, reconciliations, and reports are prepared accurately and in line with accounting standards, internal policies, and statutory requirements. The duties will include but are not limited to; · Work closely with the global shared services team to close off end of month transactions, review management report. · Review Monthly Balance Sheet Reconciliations prepared by shared services team and ensure they are accurate, and all accounts are fully reconciled and supported. · Manage the weekly payment with shared service team. · Managing leases in Costar database, ensuring accurate reporting under IFRS 16, including liaison with Retail Ops for sufficient supporting documents for audit purposes from Group and external auditors · Support Fixed Assets monthly capitalization process, and maintenance of Fixed Assets Registers · Reconcile inter company balances with group counterparts. · Review and lodge tax filing obligations as required. Prepare WHT, FBT and GST Return · Preparing consolidated financial statement for year-end statutory reporting · Work with the external auditor as part of the annual statutory and group audit obligations of the ANZ entities. · Assist in responding to tax queries as part of the annual tax return process. · Other ad hoc tasks · Assisting with the implementation of changes in POS · Assist for the process improvement project · Assist in establishing, implementing, and maintaining accounting policies, procedures and internal controls What we are looking for · CA or CPA qualification · Proactive, with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities · Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment · Strong organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage competing deadlines · Experience working with a shared service center is highly regarded · IFRS 16 experience is desirable · Advanced Microsoft Excel skills are essential; proficiency in other Microsoft Office applications is also required · Excellent written and verbal communication skills Applicants must be Australian or New Zealand citizens, permanent residents, or hold valid working rights in Australia or New Zealand to be considered for this role Benefits of working with WSA A competitive remuneration package Ongoing training and continuing professional development to support your career growth and opportunities.
