OVERVIEW

The Financial Aid Advisor plays a crucial role in supporting students through the financial aid process, ensuring they have access to the necessary resources to fund their education. This position involves advising students on financial aid options, assisting with loan processing, and providing guidance on financial literacy.

Responsibilities

DUTIES

  • Processes and monitors Financial Aid / OSAP applications, meets with prospective students, qualifies their financial viability and assists with OSAP application submissions
  • Collects / gathers and processes student information and submissions required for the creation and maintenance of student files, medical forms, police checks, and transcripts for Student files.
  • Assists with administrative tasks as assigned.

SPECIFIC DUTIES

  • Processes the majority of OSAP applications liaising between Admissions, prospective students and the MCU
  • Prepares KPI data files to be reviewed and uploaded
  • Prepares transcripts for STEPS entry, maintain data and uploads to Career Colleges Ontario
  • Generates all 50% of course completion letters and provides this to the Career Counsellor
  • Assists with all Instructor & student meetings to support Admin staff takes minutes and forwards to the appropriate personnel as directed by the CCHST management.
  • Collects grades from Instructors (non-electronic scored evaluations), entry into software repository and posting of marks, filing of paper-based tests/exams and OP scoring documents
  • Assists with gathering data for audits
  • Other duties as assigned by CCHST management
