Description
The Financial Aid Advisor provides students with the maximum amount of financial assistance to which they are eligible, in accordance with applicable regulations, with timely service and the highest quality in coordination with other departments, to ensure that the institutional development goals are met.   Essential duties and responsibilities: * Responsible to comply with all policies, procedures, programs and services of the Financial Aid Department to ensure compliance. * Maintain adequate communication and collaboration with the academic area, other service offices and Supervisor in order to contribute to student retention, Institution goals and prevent delays that can affect the daily operation. * Provide student with a high-level service experience. * Properly manage our student system and authorized federal government systems (NSLDS, COD and FPP). * Comply with the Document Retention policy and disposal of documents. In addition, to perform a proper filing process. * Collaborate in maintaining student records with all the required documents duly completed and preserved. * Responsible for receiving documents and/or evidence submitted by the students, as required by federal, state, institutional regulations, and applicable B2B partnership agreements. * Provide orientation and assistance to students and/ or prospects related to financial aid services, administrated funds, their eligibility criteria and the application process. * Provide support in addressing and responding to questions or concerns from B2B partners. * Support and follow up on students and/ or prospects regarding the process of completing their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) via the FAA Access to CPS Online and submitting any required document. * Responsible in provided students and or prospects official communications and documents such as but not limited to: Welcome Letter, Orientation Document, Consent to receive electronic communications, Student Guide, Student authorization; among others. * Responsible for reviewing and documenting the student's financial history to identify possible aspects that limit the student's eligibility such as; default loans; maximum use of Federal Pell Grant (LEU); among others and guide students accordingly. * Responsible to conduct evaluation to determine student eligibility and assign financial assistance to which they are entitled in accordance with applicable regulations and terms of the B2B partnership agreements. * Collaborate with the designated institutional staff in the evaluation and resolution, if applicable, of disbursement eligibility exceptions and/ or adjustments so that students can receive their financial aid on time. * Discuss payment plan options to cover any uncovered balance and guide the student to create the payment plan with Tuition Options. * Partner with Corporate staff to ensure all B2B population processing is completed accurately, including billing, invoicing, and confirmation of funds received. * Escalate any adjustments needed from the evaluation of the student ledger card. * Notify and channel in the event of irregularities found within the Financial Aid Department.   Minimum Requirements: * Associate’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field * At least two years of experience in a similar position  * Ability to work extended hours (which will include evenings and weekends), to meet business objectives.     Why Join Northbridge University?
