Join the Launch of a Transformative Nursing Program as Our Financial Aid Coordinator UPMC Altoona is excited to introduce the UPMC Mercy School of Nursing at Altoona, a dynamic 16-month diploma program designed to elevate the next generation of nurses in our region. As we prepare to welcome our inaugural class in Fall 2026, we’re seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Financial Aid Coordinator to help shape the student experience from day one. You’ll play a vital role in guiding students through the financial aid process, helping them access the resources they need to pursue a career in nursing. Your work will directly support the success of our students and the growth of our program. What You’ll Do Administer the financial aid program for the UPMC schools of nursing, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations Provide personalized financial aid guidance to eligible students, including assistance with payment plans and funding options Maintain accurate financial aid records and stay current on evolving aid opportunities Collaborate with applicants, students, faculty, and staff to foster a supportive and informed environment Support admissions and recruitment efforts to help build a strong and diverse student body Contribute to special projects and school initiatives as needed What We’re Looking For Minimum of 3 years of experience in financial aid administration within a higher education setting Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to work primarily Monday through Friday during daytime hours, with occasional flexibility for evenings and weekends Bachelor's degree is required. 3 years of experience in hospital/school finance and budgets are required. Student admissions and financial aid administration experience is required. 3 years of experience in financial aid administration within a higher education setting is strongly preferred. Knowledge of computers and ability to assist others with computer use is required. Student management system experience and fluency in Excel is preferred.
