Description:

EDUCATION

  • High School Diploma or GED, or equitable on-the-job experience
  • College level coursework in accounting, finance, or related field required

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS

  • Proprietary school financial aid experience highly desirable
  • Must have excellent computer skills to include MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail are required
  • Must have an outgoing personality with excellent people skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment with a college student population
  • Cannot be in default on Federal Student loans

Responsibilities:

POSITION PURPOSE

  • This position is responsible for processing financial aid documentation for students.

JOB FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Processing documentation to ensure that each student has funds to pay for tuition, including VA Education Benefits, Military Tuition Assistance (TA), scholarships, etc.
  • Monitors submission of FAFSA’s and receipt of ISIRs
  • Completes verification in a timely manner for all files selected for verification
  • Monitors submission of student MPNs via COD
  • Performs group or individual entrance and exit loan counseling
  • Maintains and is familiar with current FA regulations to include current Federal Student Aid Handbook
  • Regularly reviews incomplete files; ensures that funds are only disbursed when student is eligible
  • Monitors student accounts to ensure full packaging
  • Monitors expected and past due cash flow to ensure that funding is disbursed as appropriate and in a timely manner
  • Meets with all incoming students to start aid process, explains types of aid, gives out and explains necessary forms and documentation
  • Is available to all students for questions, problems, and follow-up on processing, and to refer students to the appropriate staff member for assistance with academic advising
  • Any additional task or project assigned by the Campus Director of Compliance & Administration/Campus Assistant Director and/or Campus Executive Director.
