Description Financial Analyst/Accountant (full-time): Tucson, Arizona JOB DESCRIPTION: The Financial Analyst will inspect and review financial records to track the organization’s assets, liabilities, profit and loss and other related financial activities. QUALIFICATIONS/MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or related field, required. At least two years of related experience required. AZ IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card / Background and Criminal History Clearance. Excellent organizational skills. Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs general accounting and other related duties for the organization. Inspects the budget and general ledger for assigned departments and accounts, ensuring that funds are available, and expenditures are assigned correctly. Prepares monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements. Reviews and maintains the general ledger. Reconciles balance sheet accounts. Reviews and/or assists with preparation of financial statements and records provided to federal, state, and internal auditors and similar personnel. Prepares journal entries. Performs variance analysis on the income statement and balance sheet. Prepares current fiscal year financial projections. Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures. Assists with purchasing and accounts payable, as needed. Performs other related duties as assigned. REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES: Extensive knowledge of general financial accounting. Understanding of and ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles. Proficient with accounting software. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
