How you make a difference:
The Financial Analyst will support the Accounting Manager in reconciling internal systems related to a variety of large legal and medical claims data sets. This role is critical in ensuring data completeness and accuracy when delivering to both internal and external stakeholders. Responsibilities also include contributing to tight deadlines for accounting activities such as general ledger entries, month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, and AdHoc reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reconcile internal systems and reporting to ensure accurate, complete, and timely data delivery to external customers.
  • Analyze actuarial-driven medical and legal claims data, including IBNR reserves, loss runs, claims payments, and lag studies.
  • Assist with preparation of journal entries and support the month-end close process.
  • Perform selected balance sheet account reconciliations and support year-end audit requests.
  • Partner with the Accounting Manager on reporting and analysis, while maintaining an in-office presence 2–3 days per week.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Education

  • BA/BS in Accounting or Finance

Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience required.
  • Experience maneuvering through large data sets preferred.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel.
