Responsibilities

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF MAIN/PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE JOB, APTITUDE, LEVEL OF COMPLEXITY, SPAN OF CONTROL, AUTONOMY, DECISION MAKING AND JUDGEMENT. IT IS CENTRAL AND NECESSARY TO THE SATISFACTORY PERFORMANCE OF THE JOB. INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING AND OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED.

Under general supervision, this position will:

  • Prepare financial budgets and projections and present to executive management.
  • Evaluate financial performance by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecasts.
  • Conduct valuation analysis including net asset value (NAV), trading and transaction comps or comparable Company analysis, cost of capital and risk analysis for Companies and competitors.
  • Conduct merger and acquisition evaluation, materials preparation and transaction execution.
  • Analyze potential equity and debt financings and work within the Finance team to execute the transactions.
  • Perform market research, data analysis, and business intelligence around the fundamentals of the commodity markets relevant to the Company.
  • Implement best practices for financial forecasting and budging, and stay apprised of new methodology to improve the current process.
  • Prepare Company presentations for the website, equity and high yield conferences.
  • Assist in the preparation of materials and scheduling for certain equity conferences, investors meetings, marketing functions, etc.
  • Prepare Board materials, which could include capital markets updates, financial projections compared to budget, strategic merger and acquisition analysis, other Company updates.
  • Prepare credit rating materials that will be used to communicate directly with the credit rating agencies.
  • Work directly with Reserve Engineers on well economics, reserve updates, and various financial models.
  • Interact frequently with the Geology, Land, Reserves/Engineering, Production and Midstream departments to understand the Company story for purposes of preparing investor materials.Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Understanding of financial forecasting.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite with proficiency in Excel including formulas and PivotTables.
  • Able to analyze transactional data and compile reports.

  • Time management and organizational skills to multi-task and meet set deadlines.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present and communicate across all levels in the organization.
