As a Financial Analyst at AstraZeneca in Cairo, you will provide essential financial reporting. Your role will involve conducting financial analysis, and performing cost center analysis. You will also engage in data modeling and analysis activities, providing critical interpretations that inform policy decisions. Additionally, you will implement company policies and develop appropriate procedures to ensure smooth operations. Accountabilities • Performance reporting and insight: Prepare, review, and enhance performance management reports, providing clear, value-adding variance analysis and commentary. • Period close: Manage and support month-end close activities, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and alignment to policies and calendars. • Decision support: Collect data, build models, and perform ad hoc analyses to support business cases and operational decisions; act as the first point of contact for business case assessments. • Problem solving and ownership: Own delivery of assigned tasks end-to-end; independently interpret, diagnose, and resolve issues, escalating only complex matters as needed. • Policy and guidance: Help managers interpret and apply finance policies; provide day to day support for finance delivery in your specialist area. • Governance and judgement: Work within defined guidelines and policies, applying sound judgement to ensure compliance and quality. • Continuous improvement: Identify process gaps and propose changes to enhance efficiency, control, and the effectiveness of finance delivery. Essential Skills/Experience • 2 - 3 years of experience in finance, accounting, or a related analytical role. • Hands-on experience in your specialist area (e.g., reporting, FP&A, or cost management) with a thorough understanding of functional cost drivers. • Experience working within a multi-disciplinary, cross-functional, or global team. • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and the ability to synthesize findings into clear insights and actions. • Proficiency with spreadsheets and data analysis; comfort working with large data sets. Desirable Skills/Experience • Progress toward a professional qualification (e.g., CIMA, ACCA, CPA) is an advantage. • Advanced Excel skills (e.g., Power Query, advanced formulas, pivoting, data validation) and experience with SAP or similar ERP. • Exposure to BI/visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) and basic understanding of data modeling. • Experience in pharmaceuticals, FMCG, or another regulated, matrixed environment. • Ownership mindset, bias to action, and commitment to meeting deadlines with high accuracy. • Clear, concise communication—both written and verbal—with the ability to translate numbers into business narratives. • Curiosity and continuous improvement mindset to streamline processes and strengthen controls. • Collaboration and stakeholder management skills across finance and non-finance teams.
