YOUR WORK
In this role, you will:
- Summarize detailed revenue/expense data and compare summarized claim data against fee schedules and contracts
- Produce contract performance reports, modeling of reimbursement rates, evaluation of financial contract modifications and compiling and monitoring key managed care statistics
- Collect and evaluate data, develop and maintain financial models, analyze results and conduct scenario analyses to forecast balance sheet, cash flow and regulatory capital
- Follow and conduct audit processes and review internal controls to ensure financial transactions are accurate, timely and comply with accounting standards, principles and company policy
- Provide policy guidance and interpretation to ensure financial records are consistent and comply with company policies and GAAP
- Provide highly complex analytical support through the analysis and interpretation of data in support of cross-functional business operations
- Identify business process improvement opportunities and internal controls
- Develop, prepare, and analyze reports for management review, and presents to various levels of management
- Define business requirements and provide analysis to increase operational efficiency
- Establish work plans and timelines, coordinates with internal and external resources
QUALIFICATIONSYOUR KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
- Requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Requires at least 7 years of prior relevant experience
- Requires advanced Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Requires strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex analytical data simply and connect them to business results for different audiences
- Requires ability to adapt quickly to change and shifting directions
- Healthcare insurance experience highly desired
- Basic SQL/Tableau highly desired
- PMP highly desired
Pay Range: The pay range for this role is $109,120.00 to $163,680.00 for California.
Note: Please note that this range represents the pay range for this and many other positions at Blue Shield that fall into this pay grade. Blue Shield salaries are based on a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, location (California, Bay area, or outside California), and current employee salaries for similar roles.

The Blue Shield of California Finance team is responsible for providing Line of Business consolidation, reporting, and analysis support for the Growth Finance team. The Financial Analyst, Consultant will report to the Markets Planning and Analysis Finance Manager. In this role, you will work closely and collaborate with other stakeholders (actuarial, accounting, enterprise finance, growth solutions) to work through monthly close deliverables and planning activities.
