FINANCIAL ANALYST/CONTROLS:

On behalf of our Banking client, Procom is searching for a Financial Analyst/Controls for a 12-month role. This position is a hybrid position with 2 days onsite at our client’s Toronto, Ontario office.

FINANCIAL ANALYST/CONTROLS - JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Project Financials Control Group seeks a Financial Analyst to assist with managing the financials of a portfolio of projects. The role involves ensuring monthly payouts, tracking actuals vs. forecasts, preparing accruals, conducting financial forecasting, and liaising with project managers to maintain budget compliance.

FINANCIAL ANALYST/CONTROLS - MANDATORY SKILLS:

  • 3-4 years of experience in financial forecasting, accruals, and reporting.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles (Actuals vs. Accruals, CapEx vs. OpEx).
  • 3–4 years of experience managing large data sets and project financials.
  • 3+ years of experience with Advanced Excel (Index Match, VLOOKUP, complex formulas).
  • Working knowledge of Power BI for data visualization.

FINANCIAL ANALYST/CONTROLS – NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS:

  • Knowledge of project management.
  • Experience with Clarity, Fieldglass, JIRA/Confluence.
  • Knowledge of capital markets and regulatory frameworks.
Responsibilities
  • Own the end-to-end financial lifecycle of projects, including tracking actuals vs. forecasts and managing accruals.
  • Collaborate with Delivery Managers for accurate forecasting and budgeting, identifying potential overruns.
  • Consolidate data into centralized Excel models and deliver actionable insights and financial reports.
  • Monitor timesheets using Clarity, Fieldglass, and JIRA/Confluence, ensuring timely invoice processing.
  • Manage vendor relationships, oversee contract compliance, and maintain financial records.
  • Provide financial clarity to project teams and support regulatory reporting.
