POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for controlling and implementing financial costing activities, including review and update of manufacturing standard costs, product bill of materials, and system routing methods. Also responsible for fixed assets accounting and reporting. In addition, the position will assist in the day-to-day operations and activities of the Finance Department.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor degree in accounting or finance and five years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Professional credentials are preferred.

Responsibilities
  • Review costing methodology and processes to ensure consistency and accuracy.
  • Serve as central finance point of contact for Product Data Management (PDM) activity. PDM relates to production work orders and the analysis of variances.
  • Review all new stock code setups, bills of materials and routings for accuracy.
  • Provides analytical support for ad-hoc requests on proposed changes to bill of materials, process speeds, labor, scrap rates, etc.
  • Participate in the development of the annual standard cost labor and overhead rates. Including updating the raw material standard costs annually.
  • Ensure timely completion and accuracy of costing reports/information.
  • Review and investigate work order variances and material variances (PPV).
  • Review and analyze gross margin reports by part and by customer.
  • Review monthly inventory adjustments and cycle count reports for large variances and trends.
  • Review Slow Moving inventory monthly for potential write offs. Ensure un-saleable and discontinued items are disposed of, written off or reserved as appropriate.
  • Prepare the Lower of Cost or Market for reserve adjustments and the PPV Capitalization calculation.
  • Finance representative for Inventory Management & Control – assist in regular physical inventories to ensure accurate raw material and finished goods inventory counts and balance sheet integrity.
  • Responsible for the accounting of fixed assets: acquisition, disposals, transfers, physical inventory and related general ledger transactions and reporting.
  • Maintain Construction In Process detail: project spending, monthly reporting, close-out to fixed asset and authorization for capital transactions (ACT).
  • Prepare daily reports and review inventory adjustments. Provide additional analysis as necessary.
  • Prepare intercompany invoices and ensure proper accounting.
  • Assist in external audits and tax preparation as needed.
  • Other tasks, projects or reporting as required.
