SUMMARY

The Financial Analyst - Accounting is primarily responsible for supporting day to day accounting primarily for the operating location in Hamilton, as well as both the Canadian and US operations. This role includes full cycle bookkeeping for an operating location, as well as period-end activities such as accruals, reconciliations and financial reporting. The Financial Analyst will also be actively involved in integrating operating locations into the Dynamics ERP system. This role requires up to 3 days in-office, split between the operating location and the head office in Oakville.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Completion of a university degree in accounting or business
  • Accounting designation (CPA) completed or near completion is an asset
  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive accounting experience
  • Commitment to continued education/training in leadership, finance, and accounting
  • Bilingual in English and French is an asset

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND REQUIREMENTS

  • This is a hybrid role based out of our corporate office in Oakville, an open-concept space that supports our operational sites. The role generally requires working from the office or operating sites 2-3 times per week, though there may be times when on-site presence is needed for a full week based on business needs or company-wide events
Responsibilities
  • Manage monthly / quarterly / year end closing processes, including recording of all accruals, review of GL and preparation of the financial package for the operating sites.
  • Process billing, AP / AR, insurance rebates and central payments for the operating sites
  • Closing repair orders for the operating sites
  • Provide support in reviewing reconciliations and accruals for the CSN Operations
  • Provide support to external audits
  • Assist junior team members in resolving common challenges
  • Update internal policies and procedures as required
  • Support both the Finance Manager and Director with key initiatives
  • Other projects and responsibilities as assigned
