Financial Analyst - Office based in Leicester 37.5 hour per week - Mon-Fri Fixed Term Contract until December 2026 A quick look at the role The Financial Analyst assists in accounting, budgeting and management reporting within the Resource & Energy Division. The role will ensure robust financial controls are in place and adhered to along with aspects of work with the wider business to continually drive efficiency and financial understanding. Your core responsibilities: Assisting in preparation of month end accounts to meet reporting deadlines. Balance sheet reconciliations. Assist with preparation of budgets, forecasts and reforecasting. Provide finance advice and support operating sites, where applicable in working towards understanding and improving their financial driven key performance indicators. Ensure financial controls, processes and disciplines are all in place and adhered to. Support and drive query resolution for any issues that arise within operating location Profit and Loss. Provide support in analysing current and past trends in key performance areas with a view to monitoring performance, highlighting trends and identifying areas of improvement. Essential criteria for the role: Experience in a finance or management accounts function Qualified or part qualified in ACCA or CIMA Fully computer literate and an advanced user of Excel Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to convey ideas effectively to non finance stakeholders Experience of Microsoft D365 would be advantageous Biffa – we’re changing the way people think about waste At Biffa, we love working with waste.
