JOB TITLE: JUNIOR FINANCIAL ANALYST I

Contract Duration: October 1, 2025 – April 30, 2026 (With possible extesnion/conversion into FTE)
Location: Hybrid – 3 days onsite at Montreal, QC (900 Boulevard de Maisonneuve Ouest); 2 days remote
Work Hours: 37.5 hours per week (standard schedule Monday–Friday; flexible start between 8:00–9:00)
Overview / Project Background
Join the Client Financial Reporting team within GB‑Operations to help deliver Service Level Agreement (SLA) results, prepare client financial reports, and manage wire refunds. You’ll play a critical role in investigating, preparing, and resolving issues that affect financial statements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct due diligence to ensure accurate financial reporting per client requirements
  • Investigate and resolve financial input discrepancies
  • Gather and analyze data (premiums, claims, reserves); prepare accounting entries and update systems
  • Support suspense account management and the coding of financial adjustments
  • Handle inquiries from internal and external stakeholders
  • Process wire requisitions and related treasury accounting
  • Complete renewal accounting for financial reports
  • Escalate and resolve reporting issues to maintain SLA standards and report accuracy

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Strong PC skills: Microsoft Excel (intermediate/advanced, with vLookup, pivot tables, IF/THEN), Word, PowerPoint, Teams, Windows
  • Solid foundation in Group Benefits and an understanding of insured refund accounting (ASO, billed in arrears/advance)
  • Knowledge of accounting standards: cash and accrual methods
  • Ability to interpret complex client financial agreements and apply tax/underwriting concepts to reporting
  • Familiarity with financial statement preparation
  • Experience working across multiple systems (e.g., claims, general ledger, billing systems)
  • Excellent communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities
  • Customer-focused, detail-oriented, solution-driven, and able to juggle competing priorities
  • Ability to propose process enhancements and support their implementation

Nice-to-Have

  • Bilingual (English/French)
  • Proficiency in Excel macros and Goal Seek functions

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 7 months
Pay: $30.00-$35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 37.5 per week
