JOB SUMMARY We are seeking an experienced Financial Analyst II with expertise in healthcare finance to support the Clinical Practice and Education Program operations within the Department of Neurology. This role is responsible for providing thorough and accurate data to both internal and external departmental leadership, with a focus on developing comprehensive budgets that support the growth of our clinical and educational missions. The ideal candidate will bring a strategic mindset, leveraging detailed analyses of financial benchmarks, trends, and variances, along with a critical evaluation of business practices, to inform high-impact decisions and shape robust business plans. This role will assist in the development of standardized processes for monthly and periodic financial tracking and reporting, ensuring alignment with the annual budgeting cycle. Additionally, the successful candidate will have the foresight to explore and implement solutions to enhance financial analysis and deliver accurate, data-informed projections within clinical finance. This position plays a vital role in the optimization of revenue cycle operations across clinical and hospital settings. Our ideal candidate has experience with supporting healthcare clinical revenue cycle financial analysis. Please note that this position does not offer H1B visa sponsorship. EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION Required Education Bachelor's Degree in finance, accounting, or other related field Experience 2 years of progressively responsible experience in finance and/or accounting with experience in planning, forecasting, and financial analysis Experience with supporting healthcare clinical revenue cycle financial analysis JOB DUTIES Completes variety of monthly financial management reports and reviews all reports for errors and inconsistencies; analyzes variations in forecasts and actual performance; determines reasons for variance; develops recommendations for improvement; completes written summaries of financial data. Prepares monthly financial reports, schedules for annual financial reports, and reports to various government agencies, ensuring conformance of such reports with applicable procedures and regulations of University of Texas System and Federal and State agencies concerned. Identifies areas of poor performance, presents findings, and makes recommendations to upper management. Prepares financial models and conducts financial analyses. May maintain controls for policies and procedures for financial system; develops and maintains delegation of authority of various procedures, such as check requests, refunds, invoice approval, bad debt write-offs, etc. Completes special projects as requested. Performs other duties as assigned.
