DESCRIPTION:

  • The Financial Planning Unit in the Ministry of Health is looking to fill two temporary contract Budget Analyst positions within their team.
  • Reporting to the Manager, as a Budget Analyst, you will work in a small team responsible for collecting and analyzing financial data to produce ministry forecasts and budgets.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring the Ministry budget and assisting with preparation quarterly forecasts.
  • Collaborating and working closely with program area clients at various levels to analyze, validate and explain spending trends against budget, develop the forecast and explain the variances.
  • Consolidating and analyzing large amounts of financial information and communicating to various stakeholders differently depending on the audience.
  • Maintaining and monitoring financial system coding and reports.
  • Reviewing contracts and grants for budget availability.
  • Preparing government Estimates, Committee of Supply Briefings, Annual Report and Quarterly Fiscal Updates.
  • Providing clear and concise financial advice and guidance to client areas.
  • Responding to ad-hoc and urgent financial requests, and
  • Other duties as required.
    Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract, Seasonal
    Contract length: 9 months
    Pay: $40.00-$50.00 per hour
    Expected hours: 40 per week
