Responsibilities

1. New Business & Product Assessment

  • Assess credit risk implications of new products, business initiatives, and changes to existing business activities.
  • Develop quantitative frameworks to evaluate potential credit exposures, loss scenarios and associated capital requirements.
  • Identify key risk drivers, assess mitigating controls and recommend appropriate exposure limits and monitoring requirements.
  • Collaborate with Commercial, Product, Finance and Operations teams to ensure credit risk considerations are incorporated into business development.

 

2. Quantitative Credit Risk Analytics

  • Develop methodologies to measure and quantify credit risk across client, counterparty and institutional exposures.
  • Conduct scenario analysis, stress testing and sensitivity analysis to assess potential losses under adverse market and business conditions.
  • Analyse credit exposure concentrations, potential loss distributions and the effectiveness of existing risk mitigants.
  • Support the development and calibration of internal credit risk models, methodologies and risk appetite metrics.

3. Risk Monitoring & Tool Development

  • Design, develop and maintain internal tools and dashboards for the ongoing monitoring of credit risk exposures.
  • Automate risk reporting, exposure calculations and exception monitoring using Python, SQL and other analytical technologies.
  • Establish early-warning indicators and monitoring frameworks to identify emerging credit risks and deteriorating exposures.
  • Enhance data quality, reporting efficiency and the scalability of existing risk management processes.

4. Risk Governance & Reporting

  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of credit risk policies, procedures and risk appetite frameworks.
  • Produce clear, data-driven risk assessments and management reports to support senior management decision-making.
  • Monitor adherence to established credit limits and escalate material breaches or emerging risks.
  • Support internal risk committees, regulatory reviews and other governance requirements.

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in risk management, with a strong focus on both market and credit risk.
  • Candidates must show a clear understanding and experience of, identifying and measuring counterparty credit risk.
  • It is an absolute must to have technical expertise in Python, SQL, and VBA, with the ability to develop complex models and automate processes.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with a deep understanding of financial markets, instruments, and risk metrics, valuation techniques and fair value pricing.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications such as FRM, CFA, or SCA Risk management are a plus.
