Magnussen Home Furnishings Ltd., a recognized global leader in the home furnishings industry, is presently seeking an individual to join our Finance team. Established in 1931, Magnussen Home designs, imports, and distributes occasional tables, bedroom, dining, upholstery and home office systems across all style categories for retailers around the world. With more than 30 years of experience in offshore sourcing, the company enjoys an excellent reputation for quality control, customer service, workmanship, finishing and timely delivery.

Financial Analyst
As a key member of the Finance team, your main goal is to maintain the integrity of the standard costing system, the gross profit pricing models while also assisting in preparation of the financial statements and other analysis to aid management in decision making.

Specific Responsibilities include:

  • Maintain and monitor the standard cost system in ERP system (Microsoft Dynamics AX).
  • Ensure the accuracy of costing models.
  • Support Sales & Marketing through completion of customer quotation files on a timely basis.
  • Support Product Development team with new product introductions during semi-annual furniture markets.
  • Analyze variances from standard.
  • Analyze inventory obsolescence.
  • GL account analysis on inventory accounts.
  • Assist with preparation of year-end working papers.

Education/Experience Required

  • Post secondary accounting diploma/degree.
  • Enrolment in an accredited accounting designation program an asset.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
  • Microsoft Dynamics AX or Oracle NetSuite experience an asset.
