BRIEF DESCRIPTION

The primary role of the Financial Analyst is to support financial planning and analysis for the East Region of Marsh McLennan Agency. The Financial Analyst collaborates with internal stakeholders to gather data, analyze and interpret financial information, and prepare reports, presentations, and other deliverables for senior and executive leadership to help inform business decisions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited, to the following:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders across departments to collect and validate financial data.
  • Leverage Excel and Power BI to conduct detailed financial analysis to support planning, forecasting, and decision-making processes.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports, presentations, and dashboards for senior leadership, highlighting key insights and trends.
  • Support the development of financial models and scenarios to inform decisions and strategic initiatives.
  • Assist in the ongoing monitoring of financial performance against budgets and forecasts.
  • Contribute to process improvements within the finance function to enhance reporting accuracy and efficiency.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Management Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in accounting, finance, or data analytics within professional or financial services.
  • Prior experience within an insurance carrier or brokerage environment is strongly preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Basic proficiency with PowerBI.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex data clearly and effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop impactful presentations, reports, and deliverables.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and interact effectively with stakeholders across various departments and disciplines.
  • Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills and ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion.
