Description Primary duties of the Financial Analyst include managing scholarship database, keeping scholarship information up-to-date, and tracking of scholarship financials on regular basis to insure we have enough funds to meet obligations to students who qualify for need-based aid. Analyzing the needs of all School of Medicine (SOM) students including Health Professions students. The analyst will also assist Education Administrators in tracking monthly expenses to ensure each education departments are adhering to their budgets. This position will assist with the analyzes past and current data and prepares expense projections/forecasts. Additional responsibilities include: Analyzes financial data and prepares financial reports to represent current and projected financial status. Provides guidance to staff to ensure adherence to proper procedures (e.g., adherence to Emory's Travel and Expense Policy,). Provide additional financial analysis support throughout the budget preparation cycle. Standardize financial process across all education depts (e.g., account code consistency). KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Analyzes historical accounting data and other information to make projections which will aid management in short- and long-range financial planning. Coordinates action necessary to correct account balances and maintain proper accounting controls and procedures. Assists in year-end audits and in ensuring the accuracy of accounting data. Analyzes financial statements and prepares and analyzes financial reports to represent current and projected financial status. Projects future trends and prepares long-range operational forecasts and cash flow analysis. May assist in preparing, developing and monitoring budgets. May perform indirect cost analysis. Performs related responsibilities as required. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in accounting, business management, finance or a related field and two years of financial analysis or accounting experience, OR equivalent combination of experience, education, and training. NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University on a flexible weekly schedule based upon business needs. Schedule is based on agreed upon guidelines of department. This role requires residency in the state of GA. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
