Key Responsibilities: Interpret Financial Data: Analyze and interpret complex financial transactions and events to support strategic decision-making. Operational Support: Deliver financial planning and analysis for multiple operational areas, including UPMC Presbyterian Shadyside hospital and systemwide imaging services. Partner with leadership to support strategic initiatives such as the opening of new facilities and provide financial insights for systemwide efforts. Data Analysis: Extract and define relevant financial information to assess past performance and forecast future financial outcomes. Advanced Reporting: Develop financial reports for forecasting, trending, and results analysis. Mentorship: Provide functional advice and training to less experienced financial analysts and administrative staff. Statistical Analysis: Perform complex statistical, cost, and financial analysis using data from various financial systems. Transaction Management: Record, classify, and summarize financial transactions in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). Cost Studies: Plan and conduct in-depth studies to determine the cost of business activities, and recommend budget adjustments and cost-saving measures.
