Financial Analyst - We are seeking a detail-oriented Financial Analyst to join the TELUS Health finance team. Principal tasks will include Statutory Reporting and month-end close activities. The Financial Analyst will be a trusted advisor to the business, providing critical insights and guidance to ensure statutory reporting compliance.
Key Responsibilities:

Statutory Reporting and compliance:

  • Prepare, review, and submit statutory financial statements in compliance with local GAAP/IFRS for domestic and foreign entities
  • Ensure timely filing of statutory reports, financial statements, tax returns, and other regulatory filings across all relevant jurisdictions
  • Support tax filings, transfer pricing documentation, and other compliance-related tasks.
  • Coordinate and manage statutory audits for both domestic and foreign entities, ensuring all required documentation is available.
  • Address auditor queries, reconcile differences, and implement audit recommendations.
  • Ensure that audit timelines are met, and that all statutory audit requirements are satisfied across multiple jurisdictions.

Journal Entries & Month-End Close:

  • Prepare and post journal entries for all required adjustments including intercompany transactions, management fees, etc.
  • Perform reconciliations of key accounts, including intercompany, foreign exchange, and accounts.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline and enhance statutory reporting processes
  • Collaborate with the broader finance team to improve the quality and reliability of financial data.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA designation preferred
  • Experience with preparation of financial statements
  • Working knowledge of developments in accounting standards, ie IFRS
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Dedicated team player, who takes ownership of tasks assigned, demonstrates initiative and independence.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to manage multiple assignments.
  • Experience with SAP or Workday ERPs considered an asset.
