Based in Saint John, for over 30 years, Saeplast’s engineers and designers have worked hard to ensure that their products meet the toughest demands for their global customers. Saeplast constantly strives to improve the designs for better handling and increased safety, thereby raising the value of their customer´s products. Reporting to the Controller, the Financial Analyst will be responsible for providing financial support to the leadership team to ensure accurate reporting and decision making.
The Financial Analyst will be part of a team leading the financial reporting and planning cycle for Saeplast. The successful candidate will work to ensure complete and accurate financial reports and develop budgets and forecasts that help Saeplast meet objectives. This position will involve building strong relationships and providing financial support across the organization.

Responsibilities
  • Preparation of financial statements and other financial reporting for internal and external stakeholders
  • Perform day to day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, and recording accounts payable data
  • Reconcile the accounts payable ledger to ensure that all bills and payments are accounted for and properly posted.
  • Verify and investigate discrepancies, if any, by reconciling vendor accounts and monthly vendor statements
  • Facilitate payment of invoices due by sending bill reminders and contacting clients
  • Reviewing and approving accounting inputs and journal entries
  • Reviewing and preparing Balance Sheet continuity schedules and working papers
  • Play a leading role in quarterly forecasts and the development of the annual budget
  • Providing financial support for programs and departments across the organization
  • Researching on best practices, establishing policies and procedures, and other special projects as needed
  • Leading and collaborating on process improvement initiatives
  • Perform all other duties as required.

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or financial reporting ideally within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities and analytical skills.
  • Exceptionally organized with high attention to detail and a strong sense of urgency.
  • Able to share information and ideas effectively, with excellent listening skills.
  • Skilled at managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Self-motivated, proactive, and able to take initiative.
  • Able to handle multiple tasks while maintaining high standards under tight timelines and deadlines.
  • Expert in Microsoft Office software, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.
