The firm is actively seeking a Financial Analyst to join the Finance department. This role will report to the Manager of Financial Analysis & Automation and will work to understand reporting needs and deliver high quality financial analysis.
This position is available as a hybrid work schedule.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience in financial reporting, data analysis, budgeting, or pricing.
  • Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint.
  • Solid technical, problem solving, and analytical skills.
  • Strong desire to learn and ask questions.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external clients.
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Power BI is a plus, but not required.
  • Proficiency in SQL is a plus, but not required.
  • Knowledge of legal industry financial practices is a plus, but not required.
    The primary location for this job posting is in Palo Alto, but other locations may be listed. The actual base pay offered will depend upon a variety of factors, including but not limited to the selected candidate’s qualifications, years of relevant experience, level of education, professional certifications and licenses, and work location. The anticipated pay range for this position is as follows:
    New York, Palo Alto, and San Francisco: $81,600 – $110,400 per year
    Austin, Boston, Boulder, District of Columbia, Los Angeles, Century City, San Diego, Salt Lake City, Seattle and all other locations: $73,100 – $98,900 per year
    The compensation for this position may include a discretionary year-end merit bonus based on performance. We offer a highly competitive salary and benefits package.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and analyze financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting.
  • Assist with the annual budget process for various departments, which includes variance tracking and communicating deviations or outliers.
  • Assists with monthly expense forecasting and reporting processes.
  • Prepare strategic ad-hoc analysis at the timekeeper, matter, and client levels to highlight financial strengths and weaknesses.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of automated dashboards and reporting using Microsoft Power BI.
  • Prepare annual and quarterly industry surveys which track financial performance.
  • Proactively recommend and manage the implementation of process improvements to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of reporting, planning processes, and systems.
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to provide insights and recommendations.
  • Participate in special projects and ad-hoc analyses.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in financial analysis.
  • Maintain compliance with all firm policies and procedures.
