POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance.
  • Five or more years of progressively responsible managerial/leadership experience in accounting and financial reporting for financial institutions.
  • CPA certification is preferred but not required.
  • Extraordinarily strong leadership, analytical, problem solving, planning and communications skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of internal control over financial reporting, to include either Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404 or FDIC Act Part 363 (FDICIA).
  • Strong technical knowledge of banking regulations, laws, guidelines, GAAP, and related procedures.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment must be adaptable to change.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and working knowledge of Fiserv Prologue and other Bank specific accounts payable and reconciliation software.

Responsibilities

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs any functions necessary, within scope of authority and expertise, to provide the highest level of service and responsiveness to customers and the community in which it serves.

  • Financial Reporting:
  • Preparing and analyzing financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement).
  • Developing and maintaining accounting policies and procedures.
  • Ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial data.
  • Performing variance analysis and other analytics of key business data.
  • Regulatory Reporting:
  • Preparing and submitting regulatory reports to relevant authorities (e.g., Federal Reserve, FDIC).
  • Staying up to date on changes in accounting standards and regulations (e.g., GAAP, FIL letters related to regulatory reporting changes).
  • Ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Process Improvement:
  • Identifying opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of financial and regulatory reporting processes.
  • Implementing process improvements and automation to streamline reporting workflows.
  • Developing and maintaining documentation of reporting processes and procedures.
