Hello there,
We are currently seeking to fill the position of Financial Assistant.
The Assistant to the Director of Administration and Finance supports the Director in overseeing and managing administration and finance-related activities at Arcus. This role involves assisting with financial management, administrative tasks, and strategic initiatives to ensure the smooth and effective operation of the department. Fiscal Year Outcome

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High school completion or equivalent.
  • Post-secondary bookkeeping and/or accounting training and development experience.
  • One or more years of bookkeeping and/or accounting experience.
  • Two or more years of Microsoft Word and Excel experience.
  • Interpersonal communication skills.
  • Verbal and written communication skills.
  • Organization and time management skills.
  • BCGEU and CSSEA Collective Agreement familiarity.
  • Confidentiality assurance clearance.
  • Criminal record clearance.
  • Health assurance clearance.
  • Non-tuberculosis assurance clearance.
  • Reference review clearance.
  • Continuous quality improvement participation clearance.
  • Work flexibility clearance. Key Qualities
  • Precision in managing accounts, documentation, and compliance with various clearances.
  • Ability to manage time effectively, handle multiple tasks, and maintain accurate records and documentation.

Responsibilities
  • Reports to the Director of Administration and Finance.
  • Collaborates with the Director of Wages and Benefits on bank transfers, payroll coverage, reporting, and reconciliations.
  • Works with the Payroll department to manage reporting and documentation for payroll hours and allocations.
  • Ensures administration and finance services align with Arcus’ mission, vision, values, quality of life standards, and caregiving ethics.
  • Educates and orients new and existing Community Living Caregivers, Community Living Nurses, Team Leaders, In-Home, Residential, and Respite Services staff, as well as Nurse Consultants.
  • Manages accounts payable and receivable, including verification, processing, balancing, and reconciliation.
  • Maintains QuickBooks accounting software and telecommunications systems.
  • Documents and prepares service unit-level, service-level, and organization-level administration and finance-related information and reports.
  • Files these documents in both electronic and paper formats.
  • Liaises with consumers and stakeholders.
  • Identifies, supports, and coordinates activities, projects, and tasks to enhance service effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Participates in organizational and service unit-level continuous quality improvement initiatives.
  • Maintains professional competency by attending relevant conferences, seminars, and workshops.
  • Provides support and assistance to the Director of Administration and Finance as needed.
  • Performs additional related duties as required.
