OVERVIEW

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Finance Assistant to join our Bethany and Bethany First Steps finance teams. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting financial operations, ensuring accurate record-keeping, and assisting with various financial tasks. This position is perfect for someone who is passionate about finance and eager to contribute to the success of our faith-based organization.

EXPERIENCE

  • Experience with accounting software and the ability to generate financial reports for directors and board members.
  • Provide a high level of accountability, transparency and healthy business practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and knowledge of computer systems and software.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Be a team player who can work effectively with other members of staff.
    Job Type: Full-time
    Pay: $40,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for all accounting operations, including accounts payables and receivables, budget and payroll for daycare and preschool
  • Assist in creating and reviewing monthly budget reports with directors.
  • Ensure requested expenditures fall within budget and meet required approvals.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes by preparing necessary documentation.
  • Help with the reconciliation of bank statements and accounts.
  • Maintain personnel files and administer employee benefit programs.
  • Utilize financial software to manage data entry and reporting tasks efficiently.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure compliance with financial regulations and policies.
  • Help maintain Church profile management software.
  • Provide administrative support to the finance department as needed.
