Website: www.vitol.com Job Description The accountant position is a key role, reporting to the Accounting Manager based in Rotterdam. The accountant will have responsibility for: Book keeping for Vitol companies using Vitol proprietary systems Month and end year closing for Vitol companies Financial reports preparation (Dutch statutory accounts, management accounts) Preparing for and participating in annual audits Analytical review of Balance sheet and P&L accounts Monthly intercompany reconciliations, proposing and arranging Interco settlements Calculation and booking of intercompany interests Reconciliation with clearing-house accounts Booking and request of invoices payment Booking of cash transactions and reconciliations of bank balances Review and follow-up of overdue invoices Invoicing of intercompany service agreements Qualifications 5 years’ experience Ideally experience in similar role in trading business, ideally commodity trading Excellent track record in accounting and familiar with IFRS standards Advanced knowledge of Excel Fluent in English Characteristics Personal Excellent Judgement Outstanding communication and relationship management skills Result oriented, creative and demonstrably commercial Well organised, disciplined, able to follow through Global outlook, able to work across organisational and cultural boundaries Team player, with an open non-political style and a high level of personal integrity High energy levels and ability to see big picture, as well as drill into the detail Additional Information Vitol is an international company with offices across all continents You will work in a flat and approachable organization We are a great place to work.
