Description

BPA Services, LLC. is looking for a Financial/Budget Analyst who will work with large quantities of federal government program funding data to help organizations formulate and execute their budgets. Successful candidates should have strong communication, analytical and critical thinking skills, as well as a desire to learn and work as part of a team. The Financial/Budget Analyst will work closely with executive management, customers, and software developers to support the development and delivery of excellent products, including financial dashboards.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, information systems, mathematics, statistics, operations research or business administration
  • At least 6 years of Budget Analyst experience
  • Experience in data analytics and predictive modeling
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel Experience with SQL, Tableau, Power BI, and other equivalent tools, with an aptitude to learn new Business Intelligence (BI) technology
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including technical writing skills Preferred: Experience with Government contracting and budget cycles
  • 1 year of Federal budget process experience
  • Experience in generating process documentation and SOPs
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Power Automate and Power Apps, for process automation
  • Familiarity with Low-Code Application Platforms (LCAPs), for reporting efficiencies
  • Familiarity with Artificial Intelligence, including Generative AI, for reporting efficiencies

Responsibilities
  • Reviews, monitors, tracks, analyzes, and presents on customer budgets for data irregularities and trends through Excel, Tableau, and/or equivalent tools
  • Develops, analyzes, and monitors financial metrics/ratios, trend analysis, and key performance indicators, along with projections through Excel, Tableau, and/or equivalent tools
  • Supports development of predictive financial models and analyses
  • Performs data analysis using databases and other tools such as Excel, Tableau, or equivalent tools
  • Maintains and manipulates large amounts of data in Excel, Tableau, or equivalent tools Tracks current program budgets, transfers of funds, and usage of funds through Excel, Tableau, and/or equivalent tools
  • Provides ad-hoc reporting and support on historical and current data through Excel, Tableau, and/or equivalent tools
  • Reviews, analyzes, and presents financial reports through Excel, Tableau, and/or equivalent tools
  • Works with internal teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of the product and documentation requirements
  • Attends meetings and brainstorming sessions and identify, gather, and document dashboard requirements
  • Transforms high-level business and user requirements into functional requirements for dashboard development
  • Performs quality assurance testing to ensure a quality dashboard/system
  • Creates tutorials, user manuals and training documents to help end-users
  • Provides the customer initial budget recommendations based on historical and trend analysis
  • Develops and provides documentation support on final budget recommendations, reports, briefings, and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Creates and reviews organizational budgetary policies and how such policies will affect the current budget
  • Forecasts budgetary requests, programmatic needs, and usage by agency, program, and project levels
  • Supports customers and system users with building future budget submissions, investment decisions, and best practices
  • Conducts research and analysis of issues identified by clients
  • Coordinates and prepares for client meetings with large audiences and create meeting minutes
  • Assists in maintaining SharePoint sites/Teams Channels according to their standards
  • Supports customer organizations and Management
  • Identifies opportunities for process improvements
