Position: Financial Business Analyst
Salary: $100,000-$120,000
Job Type: Full-time | Permanent
Location: Grand Rapids, MI (Onsite)

We’re looking for a data-driven analyst to join our team and help transform business insights into strategic decisions. In this role, you will partner with operations, supply chain, sales, and leadership to analyze performance, optimize pricing and logistics, and support financial planning.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE OF THE FINANCIAL BUSINESS ANALYST:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Analytics, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in financial analysis, ideally within distribution, logistics, energy, or related industries.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret large datasets and identify actionable insights.
• Advanced Excel proficiency (pivot tables, modeling, data analysis).
• Experience with ERP and BI systems; knowledge of MS Dynamics GP or similar platforms is a plus.
• Familiarity with troubleshooting data issues and ensuring integrity across ERP and BI integrations.

BONUS SKILLS FOR THE FINANCIAL BUSINESS ANALYST:

• Experience in fuel distribution or energy industry.
• Knowledge of SQL and Power BI for advanced reporting.
• Strong understanding of cost drivers and operational metrics.

• Build, maintain, and optimize financial and operational dashboards (Power BI experience preferred).
• Analyze sales and margin performance by product, region, customer, and delivery type.
• Support pricing models, margin scenarios, and budgeting processes while highlighting key trends and anomalies.
• Deliver ad-hoc financial analysis to support executive decision-making.
• Improve data quality by working with IT and business stakeholders on data integration and validation.
• Monitor cost drivers, provide trend insights, and recommend process improvements.
• Develop KPIs for business units to track performance and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Present findings and recommendations to leadership in clear, data-driven formats.
