Job Description Role Overview The Asia Financial Controller is responsible for leading the regional accounting and financial control function across multiple jurisdictions. The role ensures accurate financial reporting, robust internal controls, and compliance with local regulatory requirements, while partnering with regional leadership to drive performance, efficiency, and strategic initiatives. Reporting to the Regional CFO, this role combines technical accounting leadership, regional oversight, and business partnering. Key Responsibilities 1. Regional Financial Reporting & Close Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes across Asia entities Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) in line with IFRS / group standards Manage intercompany accounting, eliminations, and consolidation processes Deliver management reporting packs with clear variance analysis and commentary 2. Multi-Jurisdiction Compliance & Governance Ensure compliance with local statutory, tax, and regulatory requirements across Asia markets Oversee preparation and submission of statutory accounts and regulatory filings Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulators Maintain strong governance and adherence to group policies and controls 3. Internal Controls & Risk Management Design, implement, and continuously improve internal control frameworks across jurisdictions Ensure consistency and standardisation of processes across entities Lead internal and external audits and drive remediation of control issues Support risk management, including financial, operational, and compliance risks 4. Accounting Operations & Process Excellence Oversee end-to-end accounting operations (GL, AP, AR, payroll, revenue recognition) Drive standardisation and automation of finance processes across Asia Lead system improvements (ERP enhancements, reporting tools, data governance) Identify cost optimisation and efficiency opportunities within finance operations 5. Budgeting, Forecasting & Performance Management Partner with FP&A to support regional budgeting and forecasting cycles Analyse performance versus budget/forecast and provide actionable insights Support regional leadership with financial analysis and decision-making Monitor cash flow, working capital, and capital allocation priorities 6. Business Partnering & Strategic Support Act as a trusted finance partner to regional and country leadership teams Provide insights on profitability, pricing, cost optimisation, and investment decisions Support business expansion, restructuring, or integration initiatives across Asia Contribute to board packs, investor reporting, and strategic presentations 7. Regional Team Leadership Lead, mentor, and develop an Asia finance team Build strong middle management capability and succession strength Drive a culture of accountability, control discipline, and continuous improvement Ensure effective coordination between local finance teams and group functions Qualifications Key Requirements Qualifications & Experience Degree in Accounting / Finance; CPA / CA / ACCA (or equivalent) required 10-15 years progressive experience in finance, including regional or multi-country exposure Strong experience in IFRS reporting, audits, and regulatory compliance Experience in shared services, outsourced models, or transformation environments preferred Skills & Competencies Strong technical accounting and financial reporting expertise Deep understanding of multi-entity and cross-border finance operations Proven leadership in managing geographically dispersed teams High attention to detail with strong governance and risk mindset Additional Information OUR COMMITMENT TO YOU AND THE ENVIRONMENT Sustainability is integral to our strategy and operations.
