FINANCIAL CONTROLLER

Location: Lincoln
Salary: Up to £65,000 per annum + benefits
Benjamin Edwards are delighted to be working with a growing subsidiary business near Lincoln, recruiting for a high-calibre Financial Controller. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified finance professional to take full ownership of the finance function, supporting the Managing Director, Senior Leadership Team, and wider Group.
The successful candidate will be a proactive, commercially minded accountant who can provide clear financial insight, drive efficiencies, and play a key role in strategic decision-making.

KEY SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA).
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge with hands-on experience.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Commercially astute, analytical, and confident in financial modelling.
  • Resilient, proactive, and solutions-focused, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment is desirable.

Responsibilities
  • Full ownership of management accounts, balance sheet, and financial reporting.
  • Lead cashflow management, forecasting, and budgeting processes.
  • Prepare the annual budget and bi-annual forecast updates.
  • Partner with operational teams (including QS and Contracts) to provide financial support and challenge.
  • Develop and implement robust financial policies, processes, and controls.
  • Oversee VAT returns (via Comply First Time software) and liaise with external auditors.
  • Deliver meaningful management information and financial models to support commercial decisions.
  • Drive continuous improvement in systems, processes, and reporting efficiency.
