Description

Lead a high performing finance team and shape the future of financial business partnering at Pobl on a Full Time, Permanent basis.

WHAT SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE DO YOU NEED?

We are looking for a qualified accountant with extensive post-qualification experience, ideally within a group setting. You should have a strong track record in management accounting, budgeting, and financial forecasting, as well as experience leading high performing teams.
The role requires the ability to analyse complex financial information and present it in a way that is clear and useful for different audiences. Building and maintaining strong relationships with senior stakeholders is essential, as is the ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities. Advanced Excel skills are important for this role.
Experience in the social housing sector, knowledge of housing association or care and support business models, and an understanding of relevant regulatory requirements would be an advantage, but they are not essential.

Responsibilities

WHAT IS GREAT ABOUT THE ROLE?

This is an opportunity to lead a talented and committed Business Partnering team of around 18 colleagues, including four Business Partners. You will work closely with senior leaders across Pobl, acting as a trusted financial advisor and influencing key decisions. No two days will be the same – you will be involved in everything from month end processes to strategic projects, budgeting, and long term business planning.
We value flexibility and understand that people work best in different ways. You will be encouraged to bring ideas, challenge thinking, and continuously improve how we deliver financial intelligence and reporting. Most importantly, you will be part of a values led organisation that works to improve lives and communities across South Wales.

WHERE DOES THIS ROLE FIT IN?

The Finance Team sits within our Finance and Governance function and is led by the Finance Director. In this role, you will report directly to the Finance Director and be a key member of the financial leadership team. You will lead the Group’s Business Partnering service, ensuring the delivery of high-quality management reporting, forecasting, and budgeting, while working in close partnership with operational leaders, the Executive Committee, and Boards. You will also deputise for the Finance Director on management accounting matters when required.
