JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Financial Controller to oversee our financial operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of accounting, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and financial reporting. This role is crucial in ensuring the accuracy of financial records and compliance with regulatory requirements. The Financial Controller will also play a key role in budgeting and financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.

SKILLS

  • Strong Proficiency in Sage is required .
  • Supervision of accounts payable and payroll.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to conduct thorough account analysis and budgeting.
  • Attention to detail with strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders. Extensive experience in residential and commercial construction.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying issues and implementing solutions.
    This role can work out of the Grande Prairie, Chetwynd or Dawson Creek office with commuting to Dawson Creek 2-3 days per week after the initial on-site training

    Pay: $100,000.00-$135,000.00 per year

Responsibilities
  • Manage the overall accounting functions including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and account reconciliation.
  • Prepare timely and accurate financial statements and reports for management review.
  • Oversee budget preparation and monitoring, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Conduct account analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
  • maintain accounting software system Sage to streamline processes.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards while maintaining internal controls.
  • Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights that support operational efficiency.
  • Cost Accounting reporting and analysis required
  • Proven experience working with bonding, insurance and bank risk management and reporting
  • Lead the annual audit process by coordinating with external stakeholders and preparing necessary documentation.
