As a growing business, we are seeking a highly skilled Financial Controller to lead and enhance our financial operations—ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and profitability across all projects and departments.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Directors, the Financial Controller will play a pivotal role in overseeing the company’s financial activities. This is a hands-on position involving daily financial monitoring, reporting, compliance, and strategic financial planning.
Key Responsibilities
· Financial Compliance: Lead annual audits, produce statutory accounts, and ensure adherence to financial regulations and standards. Continuously improve financial processes for greater efficiency and transparency.
· Cost Control & Project Finance: Monitor project spending, invoicing, and budget tracking to maintain financial accuracy and accountability.
· Financial Systems & Processes: Develop and refine finance systems, including timesheet management and cost control tools.
· Reporting & Analysis: Prepare monthly financial reports for the Directors, offering insights into trends, cost-saving opportunities, and EBITDA growth.
· Financial Strategy: Provide strategic advice to improve financial management, streamline costs, and drive profitability.
· Collaboration: Partner with project teams to embed robust financial controls across the business.
About You
· Experience in a finance role within construction or a project-based industry.
· Strong knowledge of cost control, project finance, and financial reporting.
· Proven ability to analyse financial data and provide strategic recommendations.
· Experience with audited financial systems and financial controls.
· A recognised accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA); chartered status preferred but not essential.
· Excellent communication and presentation skills.
· Advanced Excel skills and strong IT proficiency.
· A proactive, hands-on approach with a methodical and process-driven mindset.
