Location: Blackburn, BB1 2FA – Office Based (Relocating to Bolton)
Contract: Full-Time Hours / Permanent
Salary: £67,925 - £83,600

This is an office based role 5 days a week

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  • Qualified Accountant 5+ years PQE – ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS / local GAAP
  • Proven experience of providing financial management support
  • Experience of successfully developing and implementing financial processes, controls, systems and business reporting
  • Excellent communication & negotiation skills

ABOUT THE ROLE…

EG Group has an exciting new vacancy for a Financial Controller to join our country finance team at EG Group. The Financial Controller will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of strategies, policies, systems and approaches, whilst maintaining strong oversight of the transactional accounting process and providing strong leadership to a team of finance professionals.
Reporting to the Finance Director, this position will play a pivotal role within the finance function providing leadership to a large team as well as implementing key ideas to ensure the country is performing in line with expectation from senior leadership. You will have the opportunity to partner with stakeholders, suppliers and various department when required and regularly present updates and performance to senior leadership.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drive the successful implementation of operating plans using timely and insightful financial information to support the achievement of wider functional/organisational goals
  • Lead, motivate and engage team colleagues, monitoring performance to ensure a high-performing and cohesive team which works in a collaborative manner
  • Partner with the relevant business areas/ stakeholders to understand their strategic goals and provide subject matter expertise to support and facilitate effective decision-making
  • Provide technical guidance and recommendations as a subject matter expert to support projects or business activities
  • Analyse highly complex data and produce reports to be used by senior management in their decision-making processes
  • Contribute to the development of new/ enhanced processes, controls and systems and lead on the implementation of improvements within the team
  • Contribute professional expertise/ knowledge and provide advice to support the successful delivery of projects
  • Monitor and challenge business processes where risks are identified in order to ensure the business remains compliant with relevant legislation and regulations
  • Support the development of financial regulations, systems, processes, policies and procedures and reporting mechanisms
  • Support the statutory audit to reach a successful conclusion
