Job Description: The Financial Controller at Flatrock Motorclub will oversee the financial operations of the club, ensuring accurate reporting, sound budgeting, and strong internal controls to support the organization’s growth and sustainability. This role is hands-on, requiring both strategic oversight and day-to-day financial management in a dynamic private club environment. The Financial Controller will partner closely with ownership and management to provide clear financial insights, streamline processes, and support the long-term success of the club.

Professional Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA, CMA, or MBA strongly preferred).
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
  • Proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems; advanced Excel skills required.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while managing multiple priorities.

Essential Duties:

  • Lead and manage the accounting function, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
  • Prepare and present accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP (or relevant standards).
  • Develop and maintain budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections to guide strategic planning.
  • Monitor financial performance, analyze variances, and provide actionable recommendations to senior management.
  • Establish and maintain internal controls, policies, and procedures to ensure financial integrity and compliance.
  • Oversee tax filings, audits, and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Manage relationships with external auditors, banks, and financial partners.
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and development for finance and accounting team members.
  • Identify opportunities for cost optimization, process improvement, and financial efficiency.
  • Support executive leadership with financial modeling and decision-making for investments, expansions, and special projects.
  • Administer HOA financial operations, including assessments, reserve fund planning, and compliance with HOA reporting requirements.
  • Develop and monitor cash flow projections to ensure liquidity for both operational and property-related obligations.
  • Establish and maintain internal controls, financial policies, and procedures across all club, real estate, and HOA functions.

Working Conditions:
This role operates in a professional office environment with periodic deadlines, high accountability, and collaboration across multiple departments. Occasional extended hours may be required during financial closings, audits, or special projects.
