JOB TITLE: CONTROLLER DEPARTMENT: FINANCE & ACCOUNTING REPORTS TO: PRESIDENT LOCATION: FLORIDA LINEN SERVICES – POMPANO BEACH JOB STATUS: FULL-TIME SCHEDULE: MONDAY – FRIDAY, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Position Summary:
The Controller at Florida Linen Services is responsible for leading all accounting operations, ensuring compliance with GAAP, and supporting the company’s financial integrity and operational goals. This role oversees financial reporting, budgeting, internal controls, audits, and strategic financial planning to support continued growth and profitability in a high-volume, multi-site healthcare laundry service organization.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s degree or CPA preferred).
  • Minimum of 7–10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a Controller or senior accounting role.
  • Experience in manufacturing, industrial laundry, or healthcare services industry is strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and regulatory requirements.
  • Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar ERP).
  • Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with data analysis tools.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and inventory accounting.
  • Prepare timely and accurate financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Lead the month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial models to guide strategic decision-making.
  • Supervise and mentor the accounting team, promoting continuous improvement and professional development.
  • Manage external audits and liaise with auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory agencies.
  • Monitor and analyze financial performance, providing variance analysis and recommendations for improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations.
  • Implement and maintain financial systems and software tools to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
  • Support cost accounting functions to accurately track linen production, labor, and operational expenses.
  • Collaborate with operational leadership across departments to drive efficiency and profitability.
