Listed on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX: FLN), we are seeking a high-calibre and motivated Financial Controller to join our team. This is a pivotal role for a technical finance expert who can manage the engine room of a complex, multi-currency global group. Role Overview Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Financial Controller will be responsible for the integrity of the Group’s financial reporting, global internal controls, and statutory compliance. You will lead a high-performing finance team, ensuring that our global operations - spanning multiple jurisdictions and products - run with precision and efficiency. You are a "hands-on" leader who balances technical accounting excellence, team development, and a drive for process automation. Key Responsibilities Global Financial Reporting: Lead the month-end, half-year, and year-end closing processes. Ensure accurate consolidation of multi-currency subsidiaries across the Group (Freelancer, Escrow, and Loadshift). ASX & Statutory Compliance: Prepare high-quality statutory financial statements in accordance with IFRS/AASB. Ensure timely delivery of all regulatory filings. Internal Controls & Audit: Own the global audit process. Act as the primary point of contact for external auditors and maintain a robust internal control environment to mitigate risk across our fintech and marketplace platforms. Tax Management: Manage global tax compliance, including GST/VAT, corporate income tax, and R&D tax incentive claims across international jurisdictions. Operational Excellence: Constantly refine and automate financial systems and workflows. Cash Management & Treasury: Oversee global cash flow, intercompany settlements, and FX risk management in a high-volume transactional environment. Requirements Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance. CA or CPA qualification is mandatory. Experience: 8+ years of progressive experience, ideally beginning in a Big 4 firm followed by a senior reporting or controllership role within an ASX-listed or high-growth tech environment. Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of IFRS/AASB standards. Demonstrated experience in complex consolidations and international accounting treatments. Fintech/Marketplace Savvy: Experience with high-volume transactional businesses, escrow accounting, or multi-currency platforms is highly regarded. Systems Driven: Experience with ERP systems, implementations or financial automation tools is a highly regarded. Leadership: Proven ability to manage and mentor a global team, holding them to a high standard of output and professional development.
