THE OPPORTUNITY: FINANCIAL CONTROLLER

At HealthTrust Europe (HTE), we are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join our Finance team, where you can make a difference within your role, take pride in your work and be part of a team that is taking the company into a new and exciting era.
As a Financial Controller you will be responsible for ensuring all aspects of financial control (including financial planning and analysis, forecasting, budgeting, and internal control) within the organisation run smoothly, working closely with various operational teams and providing assurance and support to stakeholders and the leadership team.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent)
  • Proven experience as a Financial Controller or in a senior financial management role
  • Must be able to produce statutory accounts
  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to drive financial performance and manage risks
  • Experienced people leader, with a proven track record of unlocking potential, driving high performance and fostering a positive culture
  • Demonstrates proactivity and the ability to identify and implement innovative solutions
  • Experience of positively influencing a variety of stakeholders, including c-suite
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Good organisational skills; ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple competing deadlines effectively
  • Excellent oral and written presentation skills
  • Possesses developed interpersonal skills to work in a high profile and fast-paced team environment

Technical skills:

  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of Excel
  • Use of Microsoft Office
  • Salesforce experience
  • SIS experience
  • Power BI experience
Responsibilities
  • Provide expert financial guidance to the senior leadership team, contributing to strategic decision-making
  • Identify and assess financial risks and opportunities, providing actionable insights to support business growth
  • Develop and implement financial strategies that align with the company’s long-term objectives
  • Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, ensuring precision and adherence to statutory law and financial regulations
  • Responsible for oversight and sign-off of month-end closure
  • Generate and present high quality commercial report packs and Board papers
  • Responsible for External Audit and filing of Statutory Financial statements for all companies under the umbrella
  • Ensure best practice procedures for completion of internal, external, financial and compliance audits are maintained
  • Oversee the timely uploading of accurate MI data to enable accurate financial reporting
  • Collaborate closely with team members and the business to support and oversee budget setting and effective forecasting
  • Support business leaders in preparing financial feasibilities and developing business cases
  • Undertake strategic and tactical financial analysis and evaluation of projects to assist the Executive Board in understanding how each will impact on the growth of the company and retrospectively ensure that the stated benefits of each project are delivered to the business
  • Provide training and mentorship to colleagues and team members in the use of business reporting to understand and improve financial performance
  • Ensure compliance with all financial reporting requirements, both internal and external
  • Support the Chief Financial Officer with other duties as may be required
