Description

The KILLSTAR brand-universe is an invitation for people to explore, discover, and become who they are. We help affirm this invitation by creating an inclusive, supportive environment where our team members are embraced exactly as they are.
As Financial Controller, you will be a key member of the finance team, working closely with the CFO to lead and manage all aspects of financial operations, controls, and reporting. You’ll be expected to get deep into the detail—rolling up your sleeves to own the numbers, while also helping drive strategic decision-making through robust financial insight.
This is a high-impact, hands-on role ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-growth environment, enjoys building processes from the ground up, and can balance precision with commercial awareness.
If this sounds like the opportunity for you — we would love to hear from you!

YOUR EXPERIENCE INCLUDES:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) with 5+ years of post-qualified experience.
  • Experience in a hands-on Financial Controller or senior finance role within a fast-paced, product-led or e-commerce business (fashion/retail experience is a plus).
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and financial controls experience.
  • Excellent attention to detail with a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
  • High proficiency in Excel and accounting systems (experience with NetSuite, Xero, or similar is beneficial).
  • Comfortable working at pace, juggling priorities, and digging into the operational detail.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally and present financial information clearly.
  • A team player with a roll-up-your-sleeves attitude—no task too small.
Responsibilities
  • Lead all financial reporting activities, including management accounts, month-end close, and year-end audit preparation.
  • Maintain and improve internal financial controls, processes, and policies across the business.
  • Oversee all transactional accounting, including AP, AR, payroll, bank reconciliations, and general ledger management.
  • Partner with the CFO on budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning.
  • Provide in-depth financial analysis and reporting to support strategic initiatives and business decisions.
  • Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and other financial partners.
  • Support the implementation and optimisation of financial systems (e.g., ERP improvements, automation).
  • Build and manage a small but capable finance team as the business grows.
