Interim Financial Controller

International Consumer | PE Backed | Transformation

Amsterdam | Hybrid, 2 to 3 days in the office

€650 per day | 6 Months

We Do Group are partnering with an international, PE-backed consumer business to recruit an Interim Financial Controller during a significant period of change and investment.

We are looking for someone who can get up to speed quickly, take ownership and make an immediate impact.

This is not a steady-state Financial Controller assignment.

The finance environment is developing and needs an experienced operator who can bring structure, control and momentum whilst working closely with senior Finance, Sales and Operational stakeholders.

A key part of the assignment will be overseeing the end-to-end finance operation across Order to Cash, Procure to Pay and Record to Report.

They need someone who understands how these processes connect, can identify where things are not working and has the experience to get the finance operation running effectively.

THE ASSIGNMENT

• Take ownership of the financial control and compliance environment

• Oversee Order to Cash, Procure to Pay and Record to Report

• Ensure the day-to-day finance operation runs effectively

• Lead month-end close and balance sheet reviews

• Deliver accurate and timely financial reporting

• Strengthen controls, processes and ways of working

• Work across Tax, Treasury, Finance Systems and shared services

• Partner with senior stakeholders across Finance, Sales and Operations

• Manage internal and external audit relationships

• Support commercial performance and decision-making

• Help drive systems, process and business change

• Bring structure and stability during a period of transformation

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

• Experienced Interim Financial Controller / Finance Director / Senior Finance Manager

• Qualified accountant, ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent

• Strong knowledge of O2C, P2P and R2R

• Experience running or overseeing end-to-end finance operations

• Strong financial control, reporting and compliance background

• International / multinational experience

• Experience working with shared services or outsourced finance teams

• Strong ERP and finance systems knowledge

• Comfortable walking into change, ambiguity and transformation

• Hands-on, pragmatic and able to deliver at pace

• Available immediately or at short notice

More importantly, they need an operator.

Someone who can walk into a developing environment, understand what is happening quickly and take ownership.

Someone with enough technical depth to create proper control, but enough commercial awareness and personality to bring people with them.

Someone who understands finance from transaction through to reporting.
