Summary: The role of the Finance Controller is a key leadership position within the finance team, overseeing the Finance Analyst and ensuring the delivery of accurate, timely, and insightful financial information. The Finance Controller leads on financial planning, analysis, and reporting processes, while maintaining strong financial governance across the business. This includes managing the budgeting and forecasting cycles, leading month-end close and consolidated reporting, preparing for external audits, and providing clear financial insights to support decision-making and business performance.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent), or qualified by experience.
  • Proven experience in a Finance Manager or Controller role, ideally within the beauty industry or a fast-paced consumer sector.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge with expertise in management reporting and FP&A.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management skills, with experience developing and mentoring junior finance staff.
  • High attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong partnerships with senior stakeholders.
  • Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with financial systems; experience with Microsoft Dynamics and Power BI is an advantage.
Responsibilities
  • Manage, mentor, and review the work of the Finance Analyst, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of financial analysis and reports.
  • Lead the annual budgeting and bi-annual forecasting processes in collaboration with department heads and senior management.
  • Oversee the preparation and presentation of in-depth financial analysis to support strategic and operational decision-making.
  • Review financial performance against budgets and forecasts, highlighting variances and driving corrective actions.
  • Lead the month-end close and preparation of consolidated P&L and balance sheet.
  • Act as the main point of contact for the external audit, ensuring all information is prepared accurately and on time
  • Lead and support ad hoc financial projects, system improvements, and strategic initiatives as required by management.
