Responsibilities

THE ROLE

You will build the finance backbone, month end close, P&L accuracy, cash flow, controls and reporting. Day to day you will partner with operations and the owner to keep stock tight, margins clear and cash predictable. You will spend one day a week on site (all 3 days if you wish) between Launceston and Okehampton.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Own the cash position day to day, produce a daily cash report with short term projections, then extend to a linked 13 week cash flow with clear assumptions
  • Implement stock controls end to end, goods in to despatch, cycle counts, adjustments and investigations
  • Set up costings and yields, primals to retail cuts, trims, bone and fat, WIP and waste, confirm margin by SKU and by pack size
  • Reconcile inventory and COGS, movements, stock valuation method, average cost or FIFO, agree with operations
  • Design simple SOPs and approval flows, purchasing, production, price changes, credit notes
  • Stand up reporting, Power BI or similar, including contribution by channel and fulfilment metrics
  • Manage and develop a small team
  • Work directly with owners and heads of operations, give clear options, risks and cash impact
